Tokyo Biennale 2025
In my contribution to the Tokyo Biennale of 2025 I explored themes of inhabiting forgotten urban spaces. The work was a continuation of my FTP series, started in Stockholm.
During a residency period on site I explored the Bakurochō area and made several pieces for use during events but also functioning as sculptural objects in a permanent exhibition space during the Biennale. Two live events took place where the pieces were activated with local participants wanting to join the exploration. These events were filmed and became part of the exhibition (both films can be seen by clicking a link below). A third event happened spontaneously as I was very kindly invited to a small collaboration evening at D&Design.
for Tokyo Biennale, Bakurochō, Tokyo - 2025FTP 4 (Sanpo)
My first event, activating a vacant lot in the Bakurocho neighborhood. We set up a temporary space together and had a tea break. Simple.
FTP 5 (Sanpo)
My second event, activating the outside of a local shop and alley. Coffee break included.
